We pride ourselves in getting involved with local community efforts to give back to those in need. Some of the activities we participate in include United Way Community baby showers, Habitat for Humanity, Greenhouse Ministries, canned food drives, and Holiday angel tree donations.

Feed America First - Murfreesboro, TN Feed America First, a local non-profit, receives large-scale food donations from manufacturers, producers, retailers, community food drives, and personal donations. They sort and portion food all the food items with the help of hundreds of volunteers each month, just like Wiser. Once sorted and portioned they distribute the food to over 200 partner agencies across TN, AL, KY, and MS to food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters who then, in turn, give the food away to those in need. Wiser employees helped sort and package over 40,000 lbs. of sweet potatoes. With lots of laughs and hard work Wiser employees now consider themselves sweet potato aficionados! Annual United Way Community Baby Shower – Rutherford County Wiser took part in donating new baby items for Rutherford County United Way Community Baby Shower. The Community Baby Shower offers expecting mothers to be the necessities for their new bundle of joy. Wiser purchased onesies, diapers, bottles, pacifiers, wipes, and blankets to be added to the 500 prepackaged bags that are given out. Coat Drive for Afghan youth The U.S. Army and Civilian Police Advisers of Task Force Southeast located in Gardez, Afghanistan are always looking for donations of new or lightly used children coats, hats and gloves to provide to the Afghan youth that are living in the 303rd Police Zone. Thousands of children ranging in age from infant to middle school age are in need of staying warm during the frigid winter months in Afghanistan. This joint community policing endeavor project was introduced to us by one of our very own employees who, as a member of the military, spent plenty of time in Afghanistan and saw a need in children who are less fortunate and relayed his passion to Wiser Employees who stepped up and donated! |
